Horror-Like Movie Marathon Pre-Wrap Up Wrap Up

October has almost come to a close.  This also means the end of my horror marathon.  Am I glad that it’s over?  You bet I am.  I went through a lot of crappy movies for that marathon.  I knew I was going to when I started because I planned to go through the Halloween series and the god awful Leprechaun series.  That was what I had planned.  The month took another turn after that.

I finished those two series rather quickly.  It was only halfway through October.  At that point I decided that I might as well keep going with the horror movies.  What better way than to delve into two more series.  These would be the Piranha films and the Sleepaway Camp films.  Neither of those would be considered classics.  This took me down to a level of movie watching which I don’t feel I have ever been to before.

Mind you, there were a few movies thrown in there that didn’t make me feel like I wanted to bash my head into a cinderblock by use of a sledgehammer.  I saw the original version of The Haunting, and the original version of House of Wax.  I watched Rosemary’s Baby, and I watched Trick ‘R Treat.  The problem was that the number of bad films outweighed the number of good and it made things get rather bad nearing the end of the month.

All in all, this was still a fulfilling marathon and will lead into the next three days really well.  I’m going to do an awards sort of thing.  The first two days will be a bunch of random “awards” to moments and movies that stood out during this marathon.  The final day will encompass the best and worst in acting, movies, and things like that.  Go from the random to the straight forward.  Then it is on to the next marathon, the Mustache Marathon.

That’s what there is to look forward to.  A bad excuse for awards and the next marathon.  If you want to look at all of the stuff I watched, it can be found http://jurassicgriffin.blogspot.com/2011/10/horror-like-movie-marathon.html .

Thanks for the little bit of support I’ve gotten throughout this.  It’s been fun, even if I complain about how bad some of the stuff was.  See you all tomorrow for part one of the awards.
