The Fans Power Up

There were many supplemental features included with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers box set. Some of them were videos given to fans during the initial run of the show. One of them was The Good, The Bad, and The Stupid , a pilot for a Bulk and Skull spin-off to the Power Rangers franchise. The Zeo Serials were packaged into one video to watch all in a row before heading onto Power Rangers Zeo . But not everything was done in the moment. Some of the things were a look back at the three seasons that spawned a nearly thirty-year franchise. The Fans Power Up was a look at the fans of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and their love of the show. If there was one thing that kept the Power Rangers franchise going for as long as it has, it was the fans. They came into the show early, kept it from being a one season show, and kept coming back for every iteration of the show. The Good, The Bad, and The Stupid: The Misadventures of Bulk and Skull

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers introduced a bunch of characters that children quickly fell in love with. There were Zordon and Alpha, the two otherworldly figures that guided a group of teenagers with attitude through their battles against the evil monsters on the moon. The teenagers included the leader, Jason, and his friends Zack, Billy, Kimberly, and Trini. Tommy, a new kid in town, joined the team later in the first season. Some of the teens would leave and eventually be replaced by Adam, Rocky, Aisha, and Katherine. Kids loved their heroes. They also loved the villains from the moon who included Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd, Squatt, Baboo, Finster, Scorpina, Goldar, and Rito Revolto. And then there were the human comedic foils, Bulk and Skull. Sometime during the third season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers , the producers behind the show decided to try their hands at a spin-off. First Time Watches: July 2020

Each month, I watch a lot of movies. Some of them are rewatches of things I love. Those are the comfort movies for when I’m feeling down. Or they’re movies that I haven’t seen in a while and want to watch again. But there are always many more first time watches. The new-to-me movies end up being the majority of what I watch on a regular basis. That’s where this post comes in. As I watch my way through movies over the course of a month, I try to compile my thoughts about the first time watching experience into these posts. Each of the first time watches gets its own little section for me to elaborate on it. It’s not too long, not too short. I give my peace about the movies and move on with my day.
