First Time Watches: February 2019

Image
February is the shortest month of the year. Most of the time, it only has twenty-eight days. That’s two or three less than any other month. Once in four years, it gets an extra day, but that’s still not enough to match the other months. That doesn’t mean that the movie watching has to be any less. And, by that logic, it doesn’t mean that there will for sure be fewer first time watches in February. If February of 2019, I still managed to have fourteen first time watches. There were fourteen movies I had never seen before that I saw for the first time. They were from many different genres and many different years. There was a western from the 1930s, a musical from the early 2000s, and an animated family comedy from that month. I watched whatever I felt like watching, like any other month. I had a good time doing it, too. Now, I’m going to once again preface this by saying that I know this is over a year out of date. I’m still catching up on these posts. Give me a little bit o

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Season 3, Epiosde 30: Master Vile and the Metallic Armor, Part II

When we last left off with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers , Master Vile had shown up to cause even more trouble for the teens. Ninjor broke free, but Master Vile recaptured him almost immediately. The Blue Globbor absorbed a bunch of Ninjor’s power to be a seemingly better being. That way, it could go and capture the Zeo Crystal, one of the most powerful objects in the universe. Master Vile would use that crystal to rule the world if the Power Rangers couldn’t stop him. The second part of Master Vile and the Metallic Armor looks to continue that story in some big ways. Tommy went to the moon to try and get the Zeo Crystal before Master Vile, so that plan will play out. Katherine told Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd that she wanted to be evil again. The Blue Globbor was draining the power from the Ninja Megazord and Shogun Megazord. How will that be resolved? We’ll find out some of it in… Season 3, Episode 30: Master Vile and the Metallic Armor, Part II Billy urged the P

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Season 3, Episode 29: Master Vile and the Metallic Armor, Part I

Previously in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers , Aisha and Katherine brought Kelly, a chimpanzee, to town for their presentation about sign language. Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd used Kelly to create a monster that the Power Rangers wouldn’t want to hurt. It was up to Billy to devise an antidote that could save Kelly from the powers of evil without killing her. Bulk and Skull spent their time trying to catch a banana thief. The next episode should be a bigger game changer than the past few. It will be introducing a new big villain who will usurp the others. Master Vile, the father of Rita Repulsa and Rito Revolto will be coming to the moon to try his hand at stopping the Power Rangers. He’ll put them into a dire situation. Nothing will be resolved yet, though, because this is the start of a three-episode story. This is… Season 3, Episode 29: Master Vile and the Metallic Armor, Part I The gang was riding horses with Bulk, Skull, and Lt. Stone. The sky immediately when dark
