Movies By My Housemates Tastes 2

You may remember about a year ago when I wrote about watching GI: Joe, a movie which my housemate Rupert told me was good.   You’ll remember me feeling like I’d just had my soul crushed by Rupert saying that.   It was a terrible movie.   Yet he said it was good.   I don’t know what was up with that. Well, now another thing comes out of Rupert that I cannot stand for.   He won’t give Fast Five a chance.   He will not watch it and has said that he never will.   This seems completely ludicrous to me for a number of reasons.   It’s a fun action movie.   The trailer could show you that.   The stunts in the movie are more practical than most movies you will see.   The acting may not be the greatest, but the action fun far outweighs that. Why won’t he watch it, ever?   He didn’t like the second one through the fourth so he’s writing this off as another failed attempt.   Which it isn’t.   Rupert has been told by multiple people that he should give it a shot.   Hell, the twenty minute rule

Community Withdrawals Week 5

As the time rolls on, I feel more and more agony.   With each passing week, my withdrawal about Community being off of the air grows worse and worse.   My life will be in ruins until the return of Community in the spring.   Community keeps me healthy, it keeps me going. This is the fifth week that I’ve been forced to live without seeing a new episode of this amazing show.   There is no Danny Pudi gracing my television screen.   There is no Chevy Chase saying insensitive things.   How will I survive until the return of Community?   How? I’ve been keeping everyone up to date with all of the agonizing ailments that I have suffered throughout the past four weeks.   These included a headache, a stomach ache, a loss of memory, and last week had the addition of a fever.   I thought that it couldn’t get any worse.   Then I woke up today and realized that there was a searing pain in my back. This pain might be from sleeping the wrong way.   It might.   My belief is that it isn’t.   My bel

2011 in Review: Catching Up on Older Movies

I said over a week ago that I would discuss some of the movies that I had seen for the first time throughout 2011 that I hadn’t seen before that.   These aren’t movies that come out in 2011.   These are going to be me discussing movies from before 2011 that I had finally caught up with.   This is going to be an interesting mixture of films because they range through a lot of time and genres.   Where to start, where to start? Around February, I sat down with a couple of my housemates and we turned on a movie that I had never seen before.   It starred Bruce Willis as John McClain and was titled Die Hard.   I had just never gotten around to it.   It’s a very good action film.   I don’t have too much to say about it that hasn’t been said a million times.   The characters are interesting, the acting is pretty damn good, and it has one of my favorite police phone calls that I’ve ever heard in a movie.   I don’t know what else I could have wanted from Die Hard.   I also saw Die Harder for

Snow Set Move Marathon Awards Part 2

Every awards ceremony must come to an end.   At the conclusion of this blog entry, the Snow Set Movie Marathon will have reached its completion with all of the movies watched and the awards having been given out.   It is now time to continue the awards that began yesterday. The first award for this portion is the worst actor.   This is a category that I don’t like to take pride in.   It’s not because it’s not deserved, or that I dislike the category.   My problem is that I had to watch these performances.   That was the bad part.   I’d like to tell you the honorable mentions first.   Both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chris O’Donnell are here for their work in Batman and Robin, though Chris might only be here because his part was written poorly.   I’m going to toss Kevin Zegers in here as well.   His performance in Frozen was kind of overacted.   Just a little bit.   But there is only one winner and I thought I would never have to say this about the man.   Morgan Freeman gets Worst Act

Snow Set Move Marathon Awards Part 1

It’s that time once again.   Technically it’s past that time but a man needs to do his school work before his awards for the Snow Set Movie Marathon.   That’s right folks.   Remember when I watched ten movies all set in the snow or with icy conditions during December?   It’s time for me to present the awards for them.   Let’s see some of the awards.   Of course this will be a multiple part blog entry.   Why wouldn’t it be?   It’s too much to contain in one blog entry. First up, let’s get an award for the best animal performance in the marathon.   Each performance here is actually a group performance because the animals weren’t alone.   The first of the honorable mentions are the dogs from Quintet.   These dogs could eat dead humans like no others.   The next honorable mention is for Frozen.   If you’ve seen the movie, you know what I mean.   Any more might be considered a spoiler and the awards aren’t for spoilers.   But there can only be one winner.   I think I’ve said that before
