The Walking Dead - A Double Meaning?

I have had a ritual for the past two years.   Every Sunday night for a month and a half period, I would tune into a channel called AMC to watch a show called The Walking Dead.   This show is about a group of survivors living through a zombie apocalypse and all the trouble that this brings into the world.   It was a big hit for AMC and I have been sure to watch each episode the night it aired.   That is how invested I am in some of the characters.   Before I get into anything here, I should go to the beginning. The Walking Dead is based upon a monthly comic book of the same name.   The comic began in 2003.   It was written by Robert Kirkman and is still written by Robert Kirkman.   The plot is essentially the same as the television show in a vague sense.   The specifics differ.   Anyway, come 2010, Frank Darabont teamed up with Robert Kirkman to bring the comic book to television and AMC allowed them to make the show.   That is w...

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Season 2, Episode 8: The Power Stealer

Last time we sat down with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers , Tommy was going through some serious stuff.   His powers were running low because Lord Zedd was targeting him.   He felt hopeless.   His friends were comforting him.   There was also a Robo Goat trying to take a powerful sword and use it against the Earth.   There were fights all over the place and an emotional hook that was unmatched in any episode that wasn’t in a multi-part arc. This episode, there might be follow-up to the Tommy storyline.   It would be nice to see more of the struggle with his powers.   Right now, that’s the one throughline that has been playing out.   II hope this episode continues to have some sort of meaning to the overall story, instead of being a self-contained and meaningless.   The show needs to grow and evolve, with a storyline that builds to something significant.   Having episodes that keep the story at a standstill is boring.   ...

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Season 1, Episode 22: The Trouble with Shellshock

I was going to write this sooner, but I’ve been a little bit sick and I didn’t feel confident enough in myself to write this is a good state of mind.   So I waited until the recovery period of the sickness to put all of this together.   I would be farther ahead in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers if it weren’t for getting sick.   Oh well.   Qué sera, sera.   Whatever will be, will be.   Now it’s onto actually writing about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers . Following the conclusion of the Green with Evil saga, I was wondering how the improvement would change the series.   As I found out in this episode, it didn’t so much.   Mighty Morphin Power Rangers seemingly reverted back to its old self, albeit with a new character involved in what goes on.   Tommy Oliver is now a part of the team.   But the writing is back to the normal fluff that it has been since the beginning of the series.   There isn’t much depth in the episode. ...
