I have seen The Room six times.   That’s right.   Six times.   One, two, three...you get it.   That’s a lot of times for a movie that is known to be one of the ultimate bad movies.   Why have I seen The Room six times?   It’s because I enjoy it.   I love the hell out of this movie.   It might be terribly made, but I enjoy almost every minute of it.   I don’t want to write about that.   I want to tell you about my journey with The Room , from the first time I saw it, up until this most recent viewing.   Let us begin our journey. Previously on Work Stories, I told you all about the time that a balloon machine almost burned my coworker’s face off.   That’s something.   I also think that it was one of the better written Work Stories.   I’m proud of it. I’ve covered one animated movie so far in my Sunday “Bad” Movie escapades.   That was back near the beginning when I watched a little movie called A Car’s Life which was released to capitalize on the popularity of the Pixar film Cars .   Since then, the blog has been live action films.   That is, until now.   I have watched a second animated film.   More specifically, I have watched a second animated film cashing in on a known film.   This movie is Tappy Toes , a by-product of Happy Feet ’s success. I could go on, once again, about movies that pull their idea from other movies to cash in on any success, but I won’t.   Instead, I want to discuss why I feel that Tappy Toes was a successful addition to the movie landscape, rather than a waste of space.   This will happen through a comparison to A Car’s Life , since I feel like that was an unsuccessful attempt at entertainment. Previously on Work Stories, I wrote about that time that I found ants in my food.   Then I didn’t eat the food because there were ants in my food.   Then I threw out my food because there were ants in my food.   Then I was sad because there were ants in my food.   This week I won’t tell a story that’s quite as sad to me as finding ants in my food. This week’s story takes place at the museum that I currently work at.   Part of the job is to make sure that there are balloons.   Why must we make sure there are balloons?   Our place of business likes to use balloons as a sort of advertisement.   We blow them up and have people hand them out on the street.   That way, when tourists are walking around the streets, they might see a balloon and think “Oh, I’d like to go there.”   I don’t think it works all that much, but we do it anyway.   It’s what we’re paid to do.
