Canadian Horror Marathon: Cube (1997)
Imagine if you woke up in a foreign place. You don’t know where you are. You don’t know why you are there. You don’t know how you got there. It’s a mysterious place. You are in shock and awe when you open your
eyes and look around.
There are four walls and a ceiling. There is also a floor. It is built into an exact cube. There is some white light glowing from each
surface of the cube. In the exact center
of each cube is a door. On each door is
a handle. You reach for the handle and
spin it around. The door comes out of
the wall and slides down. You can see
another room almost identical to the one you are in. The only difference is that this second room
glows blue.
That’s when you hear the sound of another door opening. It’s coming from the opposite side of the
room you are in. There is another person
climbing through the hole. They are
wearing clothes almost identical to yours.
The only difference is the name on their chest.
The two of you decide to band together to escape this
building. You go from room to room
hoping to find your way out. You run
into three other people along the way.
One of them says that there are traps in some of the rooms and that you
should use your boot to check for traps.
Everyone is now barefoot.
You open the door to the next room. You toss the boot in. Nothing happens. You pull the boot back and hop through the
hole. That’s when you hear the
noise. All of the doors shut and the
walls start closing in. You try and try
to turn the handle on the door but it will not budge. The walls keep closing in until they begin
crushing your body. With your dying
breath, you think to yourself that this isn’t how you would imagine dying. Then all goes black.
I don’t know what that stuff above now is. It could be my lack of wanting to actually
review things anymore. I more just like
to elaborate on one thing, or make stuff up.
Hey, I made stuff up above this.
Anyway, that’s what I have for Cube.
Up next in the Canadian Horror Marathon, let’s see...I guess
since I only have two movies left and I want to save Scanners for last, I’ll go
with Ginger Snaps: Unleashed. A Canadian
werewolf sequel. Who could have expected
that to ever exist? It does, and I’m
going to watch it. And that’s all I have
to say about that.
