Movie Quality Exaggeration

Anybody remember 2011?   You should.   It was last year.   It shouldn’t be entirely forgotten yet.   It’s not like it’s 2010, the year of...what happened in 2010?   It doesn’t matter.   We’re remembering 2011 right now.   Here is why I want you to remember last year.   I heard a certain phrase tossed about far too much during 2011 and I want to make sure we were just extrapolating things way out of hand.   The phrase was this: “This movie is the worst movie ever made.” I heard that phrase far too much last year.   Some examples include: “Battle: LA looked good, but it was actually the worst movie ever made,” “Sucker Punch is another Zack Snyder failure.   Except it’s more than that.   It’s the worst movie ever made,” “Taylor Lautner helped to make Abduction the worst movie ever made.”   Each time, the phrase was followed by something even worse.   “This is the end of cinema.” A bad movie is not the end of cinema,...

The Walking Dead - A Double Meaning?

I have had a ritual for the past two years.   Every Sunday night for a month and a half period, I would tune into a channel called AMC to watch a show called The Walking Dead.   This show is about a group of survivors living through a zombie apocalypse and all the trouble that this brings into the world.   It was a big hit for AMC and I have been sure to watch each episode the night it aired.   That is how invested I am in some of the characters.   Before I get into anything here, I should go to the beginning. The Walking Dead is based upon a monthly comic book of the same name.   The comic began in 2003.   It was written by Robert Kirkman and is still written by Robert Kirkman.   The plot is essentially the same as the television show in a vague sense.   The specifics differ.   Anyway, come 2010, Frank Darabont teamed up with Robert Kirkman to bring the comic book to television and AMC allowed them to make the show.   That is w...

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Season 2, Episode 35: Scavenger Hunt

When we last left Mighty Morphin Power Rangers , Aisha learned a lesson about teamwork.   As the new Angel Grove Student Fire Safety Chief, she took all of the pressure on her shoulders to ensure that the town was safe.   This became tough when a monster invaded the city and lit things on fire.   She found out that she couldn’t fight it on her own and needed the help of her friends.   Bulk and Skull, meanwhile, went looking for fires hoping that the Power Rangers would show up and reveal their identities. Now there’s a new foe in store.   What will it be?   We’ll have to watch to find out.   It should be a fun episode, though, filled with challenges for the Power Rangers like we’ve not seen before.   Perhaps it will even involve a scavenger hunt.   We’ll see in… Season 2, Episode 35: Scavenger Hunt The Angel Grove Youth Center held a scavenger hunt for all of the local high schools.   The main gang split up into two grou...
