Bigfoot's Wild Weekend (2012) and How Netflix Canada Helped Me Find It

Image
A few months ago I finally succumbed to my urges and opened a Netflix account.   I don’t want this to be an advertisement for Netflix, but Netflix is an important part of this week’s movie.   Not because it is integral to the plot but because that’s how I watched the movie.   Now, I opened the Netflix account because I want to be more legal in my movie watching.   I have watched many movies and television shows through ways that might look bad from a legal stance.   I will admit that.   But I want to do less of that from now on. Netflix has helped to lessen the illegality of my movie watching addiction.   It has given me a vast wealth of movies and television shows to watch.   The problem is that there are a lot of bad movies on Netflix.   Well, I guess that’s not a problem for me.   I’ll watch anything.   For most people that would be a problem.   If you play Russian roulette with Netflix, you have a good chance of shooting yourself with a bad movie.   That brings us to thi

Power Rangers: Season 1, Episode 6: Food Fight

Every once in a while, a show will come out with a completely filler episode.   This is an episode where nothing happens to further the story, and the plot ends in pretty much the same exact place that it started.   It’s not a bottle episode either.   There is nothing to build up the characters in an emotional way that has resonance on future episodes of the series. The sixth episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is one of the filler episodes.   What happens within the episode is contained solely to the episode and probably will not come back later in the series.   It’s something that is going to need some explanation, so I’m going to dig into it now. Season 1, Episode 6: Food Fight At the high school in Angel Grove, the students are participating in a food fair to raise money for a new playground.   Bulk decides to throw pies and a food fight starts.   The principal gets angry.   But then the Power Rangers are called away and the main part of the story begins.

All children’s shows take some time out of their schedule to highlight world and/or health issues.   They will tackle the subjects of war, disease and disabilities.   Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was no different.   The show may have been about teenagers fighting monsters by using super powers and machines, but it still took the time to give some inspirational stories to the audience. The fifth episode was one of those episodes.   The writers decided that they would take some time to shine a light on deafness.   I’ll explain below. Season 1, Episode 5: A Different Drum In this episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the two stories come together in a way that most of the episodes up until now have not.   Usually, there is the Angel Grove side of things and the Power Rangers side of things.   They tend to be two separate stories that share a similar moral.   In this case, both of those sides are the same story and depend upon each other. At the beginning of the
